Expanding our understanding of the "G" in ESG
The number of investors looking beyond the bottom line to consider the commitments organizations are making to people and planet through higher standards of accountability, ethics and transparency continues to rise. The data suggests an increased focus on environmental, social and governance ("ESG") performance is surging even further in this unprecedented moment of converging crises including health, economic, climate and inequality/injustice - all of which are being exacerbated by a rise in disinformation.
While businesses are taking concrete action in sustainable development - including through conservation efforts, gender equality and supply chains - less attention is being given to exploring what the “G” in the ESG equation really means. This is particularly important in the age of stakeholder capitalism as businesses are expected to lead with purpose in an ever complex socio-political landscape. In this webinar, hosted by LRN and the UN Global Compact, we will examine the critical nature of “governance” in ESG and how these rising expectations can help frame a new understanding and era of governance excellence.
