Water Stewardship 101: Why & how businesses manage risks and advance resilience
The CEO Water Mandate Secretariat and the UN Global Compact Network USA are excited to announce a new webinar: “Water Stewardship 101: Why & how businesses manage risks and advance resilience.” This free webinar takes place on Tuesday, October 20 at 2pm ET.
The Mandate is a water-focused initiative of the UN Global Compact, implemented in partnership with the Pacific Institute.
The world’s water challenges are a key driver of business risk worldwide and across a variety of industry sectors. According to the World Economic Forum, water crises have been among the top five global risks in each of the last seven years. According to CDP’s 2017 water report of more than 2000 reporting companies, 60% face water-related risks, while 56% expect those to materialize over the next six years.
This one-hour presentation will focus on the basics of corporate water stewardship – what stewardship is, the business case for action, and how companies can get started. Our hope is to inspire and facilitate more action on water and SDG6 more broadly among the American business community. We will include an introduction to the water-related context in the United States specifically: what challenges are most prominent, what projects and efforts are already underway, and more. We will also answer audience questions.
We are providing this webinar free of charge. Please forward this invitation to any colleagues who may find it of interest – we particularly welcome those new to water risk and water stewardship.
