Having effective anti-corruption, ethics and compliance programs is a crucial measure in ensuring a company’s performance and reputation. Once policies are in place, they need to be implemented. For this purpose, responsibilities within the company should be defined and regular communication and training for all employees on the policies conducted. An internal control system should be established with reporting channels (whistle-blowing) to prevent and detect wrongdoing. Finally, it is critical to establish codes of conduct for engagement with other parties such as suppliers and contractors.
