Participation in the UN Global Compact connects your company to a powerful network of peers, insights, and resources while demonstrating to investors, customers, and stakeholders that you are serious about responsible business, accountability, and impact. As a U.S.-headquartered organization, you’ll join the UN Global Compact Network USA and gain access to a dynamic community advancing responsible business practices. Participation also comes with two annual requirements designed to demonstrate your company’s ongoing commitment: communicating your progress and making an annual contribution to the UN Global Compact.
Financial contributions from participants are based on the company's revenue tier, with larger companies paying more than smaller ones. The tiers are broken down below. Contributions from US companies to the UN Global Compact are made to Network USA.
Global Compact Network USA is a 501(c)(3) incorporated in Delaware and registered to do business in New York State, and as such, contributions to the Network are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Your company’s annual Communication on Progress (CoP) is a key component of your commitment to the UN Global Compact. It describes the progress your company has made on the Ten Principles and is a visible expression of your company's continued commitment to the UN Global Compact.
The annual questionnaire is completed by all participants, which outlines your efforts to operate responsibly and support society. This could be part of your sustainability or annual report, or another public document. Additional details on the CoP and a sample questionnaire are available here.
