Participation for Subsidiary Companies

Participants of the UN Global Compact are granted automatic affiliation with a Country Network based on the location of their headquarters.  

Through subsidiary participation, multinational companies have the opportunity to join Network USA in addition to their primary Country Network affiliation. Subsidiary status allows for multinational companies to engage with regionalized programming wherever they operate.

Companies are eligible for subsidiary participation in Network USA under two conditions:

1. Participant companies with headquarters outside of the United States who have significant staff and/or operations within the US  

2. Companies that are 100% owned and controlled by another participating company (domestic or abroad)*

Subsidiaries in Network USA are given full access to all programming and support granted to participants, but with added benefits:

1. No additional annual reporting requirement (only one Communication on Progress needs to be submitted by a Company on behalf of itself and all subsidiaries)

2. Reduced Annual Contribution

*Companies 100% owned by another country may still join the UN Global Compact as a regular participant if their parent organization is not a participant.
