Executive Quarterly Update: Q4 2024

As we usher in a new year, we also embark on a new era. This year marks an important milestone: the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Global Compact’s mission to amplify private sector action on its Ten Principles. Back in 2000, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan sought to put a “human face to the global market.” Today, under the leadership of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UNGC CEO & Executive Director Sanda Ojiambo, we carry this vision forward, adapting to the evolving landscape of leaders and decision-makers.  This month, a new administration has taken office in the United States. While this transition will bring changes to policies on critical issues like climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), among others, one thing remains steadfast—and perhaps even more apparent: the U.S. private sector continues to be the driving force behind meaningful change that will enhance their business outlook as well as benefit society. Reflecting on 2024, I am inspired by the momentum we’ve built and the opportunities that lie ahead. Just last quarter, together, we mobilized the private sector into action, including:
